Alex Hays is the Executive Director of the Mainstream Republicans of Washington and the Constitutional Law PAC. Previously he worked as both the Political Director and Communications Director for the Washington State Republican Party. In 2002 and 2004 he chaired Justice Jim Johnson’s campaigns for the state Supreme Court. Prior to this he was the lead decision maker in nearly 20 campaigns – including several for moderate Democrats.
A lifelong centrist Alex implemented the largest voter contact project in the history of the Mainstream Republicans, which supported nearly two dozen candidates in the 2006 general election. As a founder of the CLPAC Alex has been a leading critic of judicial activism and has worked to improve Washington’s appellate courts through the election of moderates committed to defending the constitution as written.
Alex is a native Washingtonian, whose family moved to the state in the early 1840’s. He is married and attends St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tacoma.
