A commentor on WhackyNation poses a question: Who is the GOP going to run against Patty Murray in 2010?
Excellent question.
I can think of three names who have good statewide name recognition who might be willing: Rossi, McKenna and Sutherland.
Any ideas?

A pity Harold Hochstatter is enjoying his retirement so much. I’d be out knocking on doors for his campaign in a heartbeat. But at 70, he’s probably just not interested.
John Stanton would be great as well. 2010 could be a good backlash year against the Democratic tide of the last couple elections. Still, unless the press actually looks at Murray w. more scrutiny than they have in the past, she’ll be very hard to beat in a very blue state.
Rob at least wouldn’t have to give up his seat as AG. Doesn’t seem to be anyone in the Legislature right now who’d have a real shot at it — but that’s likely what they said about Murray when she first ran.
John Carlson.
Rossi has a proven track record against women, and McKenna simply cannot seem to enforce a simple state preemption law over the will of one mayor.
I’m all for a race.
But the GOP in this state will need to recognize that there are people who vote in urban areas before it can put up a serious challenge to Patty Murray.
None of those mentioned seem likely to take her on.
