All for printing cartoons of Mohammed. No sense of humor those radical fundamentalists. Michelle Malkin has the story plus her campaign for us to buy Danish goods to support our ally in the War Against Terrorism. Carlsberg, anyone?
UPDATE:
Muslims rioted in more than 20 Danish cities Sunday night setting hundreds of automobiles on fire.

Would a cartoon of a minstrel in blackface be acceptable as part of a political cartoon in an American newspaper?
Why is this row part of the “war on terror”?
Aside from the rioting, is there a right for Muslims to protest this in a democratic society?
bma….though this is a rhetorical question, considering who the question is aimed at [you], why again should there be any “right” to riot about CARTOONS?
muslims+democratic society…
do you see any problems with that statement of yours alone? muslims, simply by being muslims, shouldn’t live in a democratic society. period. if they are practicing muslims their religion prohibits them from being democratic. have you ever read the koran? may i suggest that you do before you make any more comments about this?
why don’t you check out my take on this at :
http://www.christmasghost.com ,scroll down to the second to last post on main page for a real laugh. although, i doubt you will find it amusing.
SUPPORT THE DANES!!!!!!
and ,on a side note, i find doonesbury EXTREMELY annoying. should i go out and set your car on fire? would that be okay with you?
Where in the Bible or Torah is there a mention of a democratic government? Universal suffrage?
How does this conversation have anything to do with whether an *entire* religious group should be allowed in a democratic society? Shouldn’t extremists that attempt to kill people be imprisoned, regardless of what group they come from?
Again, should Muslims have the right to protest this cartoon in the same way that you would have the right to protest Doonesbury?
Can anyone ever say that rioting is defensible, regardless of whether it’s about cartoons or the Red Sox winning the World Series?
no…rioting is never defensible. period. on that you and i can agree.
to compare the koran with the bible or torah is silly. and before you go there…no, i am not a christian. my blog’s name is based on the dicken’s character.
the koran is just one, long, windy ‘how to book’ on torture and the abuse of women… and other cultures. and being a woman i find it repulsive. it has no place in this day or century.
and as for the “entire group of people” theory. well, jim jones had quite a following too, but we all know they were nuts …also.
just show me one “moderate” muslim that has come forward and decried what has been done in allah’s BS name. and then be sure to link to the death threat this imaginary person got, okay?
you obviously live in a fantasy world, but i am grounded right here on planet earth. and here on this planet you would have to be blind, deaf and really really dumb to not notice the pain and agony this “religion of peace” [GAG] is causing people all around the world. where ever they go, doom follows.
you might want to check out a very enlightening site called HYSCIENCE. here is the link: http://www.hyscience.com/
do a little reading with an open mind….you might be surprised.
Why is comparing the Torah and Bible with the Koran “silly”? If your argument is that Muslims as a religious group cannot be a part of a democracy, is there something within the Jewish or Christian texts that explicitly promotes democracy and universal suffrage?
Have you read the Koran? Have you visited an Islamic country? Do you know any Muslims?
Is there a global leader of Muslims that could stand forward and decry violence in the way that you propose?
Have you read the Old Testament?
Do you find other religions similarly misogynistic and “nuts”?
Does the analysis on this website that you have provided strike you as being particularly in-depth and nonpartisan?
bma…..could you save the time and just put these in every one of your posts?
???????????????????????????????????
and that’s all?
so ,i have already discovered that you don’t read what other people post…what a surprise, really i am shocked. shocked ! i tell you.
but to answer just a few of your many questions:
“Have you read the Koran? Have you visited an Islamic country? Do you know any Muslims?”
YES, YES and YES.
you must have been the world’s MOST annoying four year old. can anyone here imagine a car trip with rhetorical question man as a four year old?
“are we there yet? what time is it? is that a cow?are we there yet????????”
and just to spell it out for you, since you seem unable to discern my position on this matter….i think muslims should be considered a terrorist group at this point in time. when your “religion” has many more people in it that only talk about killing everyone that isn’t exactly like them…you are a terrorist group.
you’ll notice that christians moved on from the OLD testament to the new. but the koran is still the handbook for oppressors of other religions, women, differing cultures and,of course all those handy “ways and means” of killing……
religion? my arse it is……..
and by the way, bma, can you explain to me why you would be defending the very same people that loved hitler and still, to this day, think he is swell?
oh, and how can i forget that they are also still trying to carry out his main goals….i would be remiss if i didn’t point out to you, the uber naive, that muslims [including in this country] are still calling for the destruction of israel and jews everywhere.
and why don’t you gop to the web page of obama’s church and read their “mission” statement. it’s a real page turner…….
what say you?
I’m glad that I incessantly annoy you. I realize that it might, in fact, be hard to defend what you’re saying when the world doesn’t always follow your twisted Manichean viewpoint.
I can defend “the very same people” just as easily as I might defend people that belong to groups that state that we should kill Muslims, shoot abortion doctors, think of AIDS as God’s wrath, and so forth. Certain opinions are reprehensible, and if someone intends to do something illegal or immoral, that is grounds for action. But you cannot state that a person or a group should not have their rights in a democracy simply because of what they believe. And if you do believe in democracy, the government you support needs to be representative of everyone, regardless of what they believe.
I can’t defend anyone, though, that would want to kill one person or massive numbers of people because of their religion or background. But if you assume that every single Muslim out there wants to kill every single Jew and Christian in the world, and deserves to die or be removed from the country because of your belief, then you’re a bigot, and I can’t really effectively argue with someone that has such entrenched prejudice and is unwilling to entertain any other possibilities.
And in terms of your comments about Muslims “loving” Hitler, yes, remarks about the Nazis and the Holocaust have been made by some Muslims. But do you truly understand the nature of the conflict between Israel and Arab countries? Do you know about aliyah in the 19th century, the role of the Balfour Declaration, and the UN Partition Plan? Is it simply a matter of settlers migrating to the region being the “good guys” and the Arabs already living there being the “bad guys”, or the other way around? Do the fact that some people shoot their mouths off about such things make any difference to the underlying situation?
